Tell Yavneh is situated approxmately 8 km from the Medeterranean coast and about 25 km south of Tel-Aviv.
It is located on a natural kurkar hill, surrounded by dark alluvial plains and red hama soil. The Tell is part of the middle ridge of the three ridges running along the Mediterranean coast of Israel.
The repository pit is located on the `Temple Hill`, which is situated 200 m north of Tel Yavneh.
